Thorn checks into Aquapalace Hotel

One of the latest additions to Aquapalace Prague, the biggest waterpark in Central Europe, is the new Aquapalace Hotel where Thorn luminaires have been used extensively.

The 4 star hotel (located in Čestlice, 6 km south of the Czech capital) provides the perfect setting for business and physical wellbeing.  Keynotes of the building – occupant comfort, low energy and appearance - are reflected in the lighting.

The corridors are lit by wall mounted Thames luminaires with tapered silver bezels giving a floating halo effect. Compact fluorescent lamps (16W TC-DD) provide high energy efficiency, while the aluminium base provides strength and rigidity. Chalice downlights also demonstrate their quality inside this hotel.

The 500 m² modern conference room, with space for up to 650 people, is lit by square, recessed, MenloSoft fluorescents. The direct/indirect lighting scheme provides increased ceiling brightness and good modelling to create an atmosphere of comfort.  In addition, the meeting rooms feature low profile, suspended Optus IV fluorescent luminaires with T16 lamps. The lighting provides good vertical and horizontal illuminance, while the square configuration helps define the space.

A selection of circular recessed luminaires from Thorn's IP67 rated E/Fact range enhance the exterior entrance canopy.
